In All My Remembrance

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.” (Philippians 1:3-5)

Remembrance often leads to thankfulness.

I remember our time in the same church or small group or network gathering or classroom or chapel. I remember being invited into your home, long discussions, shared meals, shared journeys.

I remember encouraging notes, kind words, thoughtful gifts. I remember, exhausting projects, resolved conflicts, tearful departures.

Sometimes I mourn all that I have forgotten. Then I celebrate how the slightest nudges—a smell, a song, a photograph, a verse—bring back a memory. A smile. Tears.

“Lord, thank You for the people You’ve brought into and through my life. Thank You for my brothers and sisters in Kansas City, Lawrence, Coppell, Dallas, Joplin, Ames, Nashville, Geneva, Dublin, Belfast, Manaus, York, Hickory, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Winchendon, Rockford, Windham, New Delhi, Chennai… Please bless them in all the most important ways.”

Thank you, friends and family, acquaintances, coworkers, brothers and sisters, for reading this. For stopping by this page. For considering the possibility of being a patron.
